Gerald Olsen - Product Development

Gerald's passion for archery started at a young age. Over the years he has shot many style archery tournaments, and produce hunting movies. His true love with archery is the technical side of it. Fixing and tuning bows and helping others achieve perfection in archery is his true passion. Gerald has been the owner of Utah Archery Center since 2002 and feel that he has helped a lot of people accomplish their archery goals. He also loves working with the youth such as scout groups. Teaching our younger generation the fundamentals of archery is very rewarding to him. His other hobbies include being on the lake water skiing and wake boarding with his wife Robin and four lovely girls. Gerald feels his biggest contribution to the EPEK crew is the idea of perfection. Since he has owned a pro-shop for so long, the building of the perfect broadhead with a perfect team of people has been a wonderful adventure. Big Muley bucks are what fuels his hunting fire. The highlight of this years hunts was to harvest three Pope & Young animals with the EPEK XC3 broadhead.
Scott Mackintosh - New Product Research and Sales
Scott
Scott Mackintosh currently resides in Lehi, Utah where he raises animals and kids. He has 7 children ranging from 24 years old to 12. His family is the best thing to happen to him. His greatest memories are times spent with the family. He enjoys cowboy poetry and has found great delight in sharing his stories through rhyme. He has coached wrestling for many years. Many of his team members have exceled, including his own boys. This year he finished off with what he calls, the “Big Seven,” which is a hunting term not many are aware of. The Big Seven simply means that each one of his seven children has now harvested a big game animal, and being that 4 of the 7 children are girls, the Big 7 was a huge accomplishment. He is very proud to be a member of the Epek team where “work” days have become much more enjoyable. Every part of the Broadhead process has been a joy. From meeting with the other members in the early stages to where “we are putting them through some critters” has been a very fun and enlightening journey. He's always said that “Life’s greatest memories are created in the field and around campfires. What a great concept to have your work be centered around those two places".
Darin Gardner - Sales and Advertising

Since he was five years old Darin has been obsessed with the bow and arrow. He used to cut branches out of apple trees that grew in his back yard to make his own bows and arrows with he sucker branches. You see, they were the straightest ones and didn't require much work to be shootable. He would roam the neighborhood with his home made weapons and terrorize the local bird and squirrel population. That is until his mother caught wind of what he was doing and confiscate them for fear he would put his eye out. He bought his first "real" bow with money he made and saved collecting newspapers and pop cans. It was a 40 pound Shakespeare Wonderbow. He shot that thing till the finish was worn off it and since then has never looked back. He still shoots traditional equipment, and still makes and hunts with his own wood arrows, but he loves tinkering with new stuff too.
Darin said "Being a part of the epek crew is enabling me to keep up with my love of making archery equipment. I know the technology we enjoy and use today is a far cry from my humble "apple tree" beginnings, but in the end we are all archers trying to be the best that we can at our craft. The epek journey is just beginning and I look forward to many years of perfecting our product line. When I'm not bowhunting I'm running a full time taxidermy business where I specialize in birds. Doing bird taxidermy also goes well with my other passion in life, hunting birds with my birddogs. I live in Kaysville Utah where I share my life with my beautiful and talented wife Mendy and my technologically brilliant sixteen year old son Hunter."
